BSIR Nurses & Radiographers International Women's Day

In celebration of International Women's Day 2024, BSIRNR along with the BSIR EDI Committee, hosted a live panel event. The live panel discussion focussed on the theme of inclusion and the significant topics concerning women in Interventional Radiology (IR). 

Topics covered included:

Barriers in IR: Exploring earlt barriers, what men should know about the challenges women face, the impact of pregnancy, kids, exams, work/life balance, and radiation concerns. 

Personal Journey's: Sharing personal stories and experiences in overcoming barriers, career pathways, part-time training/studying, and less traditional paths to IR. 

Inspiring Inclusion: Highlighting inspirational figures in IR, discussing the need for more female role models, and how we can inspire inclusion within the field.
