BSIR Bursaries, Awards and Grants
In order to support the BSIR Membership, the BSIR offers funding through three main channels:
BSIR Bursaries
- Bursaries offer funding to BSIR Full, Trainee, Nurses and Radiographers Members for individual projects or endeavours, which have been reviewed by a BSIR Committee and approved for financial support.
- Total funds available to support these bursaries are decided and agreed within the Executive Officers team annually.
- Current bursaries available are the Education, Research and Robert Bardsley Bursaries.
BSIR Educational Awards
- These awards offer an agreed amount of financial support to enable attendance at BSIR educational events.
- These are awarded based on academic merit, following the submission of abstracts, essays or case studies, depending on the event.
- Examples of these awards include Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) Essay Scholarships, ASM Case Study Awards, the Robert Bardsley Award and IOUK Educational Awards.
BSIR Educational Grants
- These grants offer an agreed amount of financial support to enable attendance at BSIR educational events.
- There is no element of academic merit or achievement required to access these grants.
- In order to responsibly spend BSIR funds, these grants are only available where proof that an individual cannot secure support from other sources has been submitted.
- Examples of these grants are the Educational Grants offered to support attendance at the ASM.
Professor Anna-Maria Belli Grants
- These grants offer support to BSIR Members to deliver activities which promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) in IR, where industry support and local study leave funding is unavailable.
- Each year, BSIR will offer up to a total of £1000 in Grant Funding to applicants to this fund.
- Each individual, or group, may apply for up to £400 in Grant Funding.
