Anaesthesia

The British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) is pleased to welcome the Society of Anaesthesia & Radiology (SAR) as its newest Special Interest Committee. The new Committee will continue to bring together anaesthetists, interventional radiologists, radiographers, nurses and allied health professionals who share a commitment to supporting and advancing Interventional Radiology (IR) practice.

Founded on the principle of multidisciplinary collaboration in 2011, SAR provided education, professional development opportunities and a forum for knowledge sharing across the IR community. Through study days, masterclasses, conferences and practical educational resources, the Committee will continue to support clinicians involved in the delivery of high-quality peri-procedural care and helps promote best practice throughout the patient pathway.

The BSIR Anaesthesia Special Interest Committee will strengthen collaboration between anaesthesia and interventional radiology, helping to advance patient care, support workforce development and foster professional networking across the UK. The committee will provide valuable expertise and educational opportunities for BSIR members with an interest in anaesthesia, sedation and peri-procedural care within IR.
