IOUK Fellowship

Created - 11.01.2024

The IOUK Committee has procured industry funding to offer a 1-year post CCT fellowship in interventional oncology. The fellowship will rotate between Newcastle and Leeds and offer exposure to a full range of IO procedures, ranging from well established techniques such as TACE, radioembolization and thermal ablation, to newer more niche techniques such as IRE and double vein embolization. Both centres have also been involved in recent histotripsy trials.

There will be no obligatory on-call and there will be protected audit/research time with an expectation to produce a project during the year. There will also be the opportunity to maintain general IR skills required to become a consultant after the fellowship.

The aim of this fellowship is to widen the availability of interventional oncology procedures in the UK, therefore we are looking for an exceptional candidate who can demonstrate a plan for how they will do this with the skills acquired during the year.
