THE BSIR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS NOW CLOSED 

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW IN REVIEW . Notifications will be sent out  early September to the primary email of the submitter whether successful or not . It is your responsibility to track notification .

Important notes:

  •             1. Neither the authors nor the submitting centre(s) must be identified by name, in order to allow unbiased anonymous review.
  • 2. Please adhere to the word count, do not attempt to exceed it by omitting spaces or adding underscores.
  • 3. Any junior submitter (Trainee, Medical Student, Foundation Dr ) must include the details and obtain authorisation from their consultant or supervisor . This should be included in the add additional authors section when submitting.
  • Once you submit your abstract you will receive a notification os successful submission with UNIQUE ID NUMBER   please keep this safe if you have any queries 
  • Submitters can also submit and 'save later to edit and then submit '  A notification will be sent with UNIQUE ID NUMBER and LINK so you can log on and complete . 
  • If your submission email changes please notify the bsir office  abstracts@bsir.org 

 

Anonymous submissions or abstracts exceeding the word count are likely to be disqualified.

Scientific  submissions for Oral and Scientific  Poster Presentation

Scientific abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation ( category may be altered by the review committee).

Abstracts (max. 250 words) need to be structured under the following headings:

· Aims

· Materials and Methods

· Results

· Conclusion

Available categories for submission are:

· Aortic  & Venous ( Vascular)

· Interventional oncology

· Embolisation

· Peripheral  Visceral / (Vascular )

· GI / HPB / GU /Gynae( Non Vascular )

· Quality Improvement /Clinical Effectiveness

· Miscellaneous

The submission will be scored on:

· Quality of scientific methods and conclusion

· Clinical relevance to BSIR

· Study design – randomised controlled trials will score higher than prospective trials or retrospective case series

Please identify whether patient consent and institutional review board approval were granted. If no statement is made, it will be assumed that this has not been sought or given. Off-label use of any devices must be declared.

Educational Poster Submissions

Submissions are invited for educational  poster presentations illustrating important features of a certain condition, a procedure or a clinical pathway.

Abstracts (max. 250 words) need to be structured into three paragraphs, headed:

· Background

· Description of Findings/Procedure

· Conclusion

· In addition, 3-5 learning points will need to be submitted.

Available categories for submission are:

· Aortic  & Venous ( Vascular)

· Interventional oncology

· Embolisation

· Peripheral  Visceral / (Vascular )

· GI / HPB / GU /Gynae ( Non Vascular )

· Quality Improvement /Clinical Effectiveness

· Miscellaneous

Prizes

· Best presentation by a BSIR junior member (IR registrar in training): Grant to attend CIRSE 2022

· Best presentation by a radiology registrar in training: Grant to attend an IR meeting 2022

· Best overall presentation: Grant to attend an IR meeting 2022

· Best presentation by AHP: Grant to attend BSIR 2022

· Best Scientific Poster: Grant to attend BSIR 2022

· Best Educational Poster (s) : Grant to attend BSIR 2022

All grants to IR meetings are  subject to approval of BSIR Council  on application and discussion with office@bsir.org .

All awardees and runners up  will receive letters of commendation.

All successful abstract submitters will receive a certificate of presentation.
