Radiology, Interventional Radiology and Cardiovascular Medicine.

As part of their continued commitment towards education and training, BSIR is proud to announce
the 2017 Thrombectomy and Embolization Prize award for trainees supported by an unrestricted
Educational Grant from Penumbra GmbH. The award is open to members of the BSIR who are
trainees and Junior Consultants. Two awards, one for each category, will be awarded in 2017 and the
winners will obtain registration to attend the CIRSE meeting in 2018.

embolization interventional procedure to the e-mail address on the application form. This can be
vascular and none vascular. The mechanical thrombectomy and embolisation can be the sole
procedure or part of other multiple procedures on the same case.

The entries will be judged, and the winners selected, by BSIR’s clinical team.
All entries will be marked using the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • Case description
  • Quality of imaging Discussion

The closing date for all applicants is midnight on Friday October 15th, and the winners will be
announced during the BSIR Annual Meeting in Birmingham November 1st-3rd 2017.

Following the conclusion of the competition, the case studies may be displayed on the BSIR website
and the winners will be required to write a short review of the LINC congress for the BSIR website.

We look forward to receiving your application in due course, however if you require any additional
