BSIR/Industry Funded Research Scholarship
Created - 26.07.2014
BSIR/Industry Funded Research Scholarship
A BSIR/Industry Funded Research Scholarship has been established to enable a current UK Interventional Radiology trainee undertake a period of full-time research.
The award will support the interventional radiologist while working towards a post-graduate degree, either an MD or PhD. The funding is intended to provide income for the individual during the research work and not for the research project itself. (The maximum award will be £50,000). The period of funding will initially be for one year. It is envisaged that funds will be available for subsequent years, but this will be subject to review of progress and reapplication.
The recipient of the award will be a UK Radiology trainee who is currently undertaking training in interventional radiology or who will have completed their interventional training at the time of commencing the degree.
The recipient of the award will be affiliated with a university within the UK and the research will be carried out within the UK.
The proposed research project could either be laboratory based, clinical or a combination of both. However, the work must have clear relevance to one or more aspects of Interventional Radiology.
Potential recipients will be invited for interview following shortlisting.
