BSIRT Foundation Year / Medical Student Representative Elections 2022 opens Monday 6 June 2022
THE BRITISH SOCIETY OF INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY TRAINEES FOUNDATION YEAR DOCTOR / MEDICAL STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE ELECTIONS 2022
Nominations are invited for positions of Foundation Year Doctor / Medical Student Representatives on the BSIRT Committee, in accordance with Clause 5 of the BSIRT Terms of Reference.
- Only members of the Foundation Dr F1/2 / Medical Student section are eligible to stand for election to be a Foundation Dr F 1/2 / Medical Student Representative on the Trainees’ Committee.
- They must be proposed by members of the Foundation Dr F1/2 / Medical Student or Trainees’ Section of the BSIR but can be seconded by any member of BSIR.
- Nominations shall be approved by the proposer and seconder.
- The proposer and seconder must have view of candidacy’s manifesto / biographic note before endorsing nomination.
- Election will be by electronic ballot, the winner being the nominee who achieves most votes.
- In the event of a tie, a further vote will be carried out amongst eligible BSIRT Committee members.
- Election shall be by electronic ballot except that, if the number of nominees equals the number of places available, the nominees shall be deemed duly elected. Clause 5, BSIRT Terms of Reference. http://www.bsir.org/bsirt/
The Trainee Committee will meet at least once every six weeks as well as at the annual BSIR meeting. The Trainee Committee may be convened to meet at other times by the Chairperson.
Appointments will be from November 2022 to November 2022.

Candidates must remain as Foundation Dr F 1/2 / Medical Students for the full term of appointment to be eligible for nomination as a BSIRT Foundation Dr F 1/2 / Medical Student Representative.

The Foundation Year Doctor & Medical Student Representatives will assist the committee to meet its objectives. These are: Representing the Trainees' section with regard to all relevant issues raised by the other sub-committees or by the Council Officers’ of the Society. The co-ordination of issues raised by members of the Trainees' section and the flow of information and advice regarding such issues to the appropriate sub-committee and / or the Council Officers’ of the Society. The organisation of the Trainees' Annual General Meeting within the BSIR Annual Meeting. The development of the Trainees' section and foundation member of the BSIR web-site.

The nomination process will take place from Monday 6 June to Friday 1 July, if you are interested in being a nominee please ensure that you e-mail your manifesto / biographic note to your proposer and seconder before they approve your nomination. Manifestos / biographic notes can only be viewed on the website in the voting part of the election process and not in the nomination section. Please note proposers must be members of the Foundation Dr F1/2 / Medical Student / Trainees' Section of the BSIR but can be seconded by any member of the BSIR.
Please ensure your proposer and seconder have enough time to endorse your nomination before the closing date of Friday 1 July 2021.
When completing the nomination form please insert a passport / thumbnail size picture to avoid any upload issues.
