 MHRA Radiology Safety Information

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has set a new and important source of safety information.

As part of their continuing drive to support healthcare professionals, they have set up a web page specifically targeting Radiology, which will of great interest to BSIR members. The page includes guidance, safety alerts and links to educational material to assist in the safe use and management of medicines and medical devices.

The page also includes a free email alerting service to alert subscribers when a section is updated, eliminating the need to frequently check for updated information.

MHRA Poster on closure devices

MHRA have produced a poster on safety top tips regarding Vascular Closure Devices following a series of adverse events reported to it and subsequently investigated. 

The top tips cover a number of relevant areas including pre-deployment imaging, angle of insertion and wound healing.
