What does the BSIR Council do?
The BSIR Council is the executive committee of the society responsible for developing the strategic direction for the society, ensuring financial viability, liaising with external societies and bodies e.g. NICE, and oversight of the work of each of the committees which undertake the core functions of the Society. The day-to-day administration of the Society is provided by the BSIR Council Officers; the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer with the assistance of the BSIR administrators.
Who sits on the BSIR Council?
The Council is chaired by the BSIR President supported by the BSIR administrator and the Council Officers. There is representation from the chair of each of the standing committees and from CIRSE. The Council for 2012-2013 is;

How often do the Officers meet?
Officers meet face to face immediately before each Council meeting. In addition Officers hold monthly web conferences to which the subcommittee chairs are invited in turn.
How often does the Council meet?
Council holds 2 physical meeting each year; once at the Annual Scientific Meeting and once in March/April. Dates for meetings in 2013 are noted below. In addition, there are web and telephone conferences and exchanges of emails throughout the year.
